The Growth Rig ("The Growth Rig," "we," "us," "our") is a growth system for local service businesses — we build and continuously improve a business's website and online presence. This policy explains what information we collect, why, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. Questions: support@thegrowthrig.com.

1. Who this policy covers

• Customers and account holders — people who create an account or subscribe.
• Website visitors — people who browse www.thegrowthrig.com.
• Businesses we build a preview for — see §4. We sometimes prepare a sample website for a local business using publicly available information, before that business has any relationship with us.

2. Information you give us

• Account information: your email address and password, or details from a single sign-on (SSO) provider if you sign in that way.
• Business information: business name, service area, services, and optionally your existing website or Google Business Profile — used to build and improve your site.
• Payment information: processed by our payment provider, Stripe; we receive limited billing details (e.g., card brand, last four digits, billing status), not your full card number.
• Communications: messages you send us and your contact preferences, including any email or SMS consent you provide.

3. Information we collect automatically

• Usage and device data: pages viewed, actions taken, approximate location from IP address, browser/device type, and similar analytics, collected via cookies and similar technologies and our analytics provider (PostHog).
• Error and reliability data: diagnostic data to keep the site working (Sentry).

4. Information about businesses we build a preview for

To show a local business what a stronger online presence could look like, we may assemble a preview site from publicly available information — for example, public business listings, a public Google Business Profile, public reviews, and publicly accessible web pages. We do not publish sensitive or unverifiable claims about a business in a preview (such as licensing, insurance, or years in business); those appear only after the business owner confirms them.

If you are a business owner and want to claim, correct, or remove a preview built about your business, email support@thegrowthrig.com and we will help. Unclaimed previews are removed on request.

5. How we use information

• Create and manage your account and subscription.
• Build, operate, and continuously improve your website and online presence.
• Produce the deliverables of the service (visibility, reviews, content, referrals, reporting).
• Communicate with you (service messages, and marketing where you have consented).
• Measure and improve our own site and service.
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. How we share information

We share information only as needed to run the service:

• Service providers / subprocessors acting on our behalf, which currently include: hosting and database (Vercel, Supabase), payments (Stripe), product analytics (PostHog), and error monitoring (Sentry). We also use providers for email/SMS delivery and AI-assisted content generation; a current list is available on request and may change as the service evolves.
• Search and listing platforms where we publish or improve your presence at your direction (e.g., your published website and business listings).
• Legal and safety — when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition), with notice where required.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to opt out of marketing or certain cookies.

• Marketing email: unsubscribe via the link in any marketing email.
• SMS: reply STOP to opt out of text messages.
• Account data: you can access and export your content; on cancellation your content is exportable and your domain is yours (see the Terms).
• To exercise any right, email support@thegrowthrig.com. We respond as required by applicable law.

8. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business and legal purposes, then delete or de-identify it. Preview data for businesses that never sign up is removed on request.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

We use necessary cookies to run the site and analytics cookies to understand usage. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; where required by law, we present a consent choice.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

The service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new "last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice where required.
